Jamie Peck is Canada Research Chair in Urban & Regional Political Economy, Distinguished University Scholar, and Professor of Geography at the University of British Columbia, and a Global Professorial Fellow at Western Sydney University’s Institute for Culture and Society.
Professor Peck is an institutional political economist, working on a range of issues relating to economic geography, urban restructuring, labour regulation, and contemporary statecraft. His research program has been primarily concerned with the ways in which ostensibly global processesβ€”for example, forms of market-oriented governance (a.k.a. neoliberalization)β€”are (re)made through local sites, extended networks, and grounded practices. His current research is focused on political and economic transformations in .
