Owen Stampton is a post-doctoral research associate at the Centre for Korean Studies working on Korean Literature. His main research areas are poetry and drama. Owens current research explores the transitional era of the late 19th to the early 20th century, primarily focusing on two areas:
Sinitic poetry or hansi (hԊ) and the birth of drama as a modern literary genre.
At the Centre for Korean Studies he is working on his first monograph: Towards a New Horizon: Sinitic Poetry in Twentieth
Century Korea.Before joining the team at Ȧ, Owen taught at the of University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada and at the School or Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.
