I began teaching for History at the University of ΢ÃÜȦ in 1999. After moving from York to ΢ÃÜȦ, I read American Studies at the University of ΢ÃÜȦ between 1993 and 1997, with a year spent at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and then received my M.A. in American History from ΢ÃÜȦ in 1998.

My field of interest lies mainly in the post-1945 history of the United States. In particular, it covers the intersection of culture and politics, especially in terms of the way that cultural movements in the 1950s and 1960s attempted to reject the mainstream values of the day.
