Review the Strategic Business Case submitted by the University of ΞΆΓάΘ¦ to ΞΆΓάΘ¦ City Region LEP in application for funding towards the construction of the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre.

ΞΆΓάΘ¦ submitted a Strategic Business Case to the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ City Region Local Enterprise Partnership on 21st April 2021 in application for a funding contribution towards the construction of the ΞΆΓάΘ¦ Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre.

  • The ΞΆΓάΘ¦ Gene Therapy Innovation and Manufacturing Centre (GTIMC) will be one of three cutting-edge hubs in the UK dedicated to advancing the clinical development of new genetic treatments
  • Gene therapy is a promising treatment option for a number of diseases that currently have no other cures including inherited disorders
  • The ΞΆΓάΘ¦ Hub, which is the first in the north of England, is part of an Β£18 million network created by LifeArc and the Medical Research Council (MRC), with support from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC)
